I'm Checking in...

Heeelloooo!!! I know I've been away for a while. I swear I HATE neglecting the blog. But ladies, I am on my summer vacation....it's the time to do all the fun things I can't really enjoy during Aug.-June! I will be quick because hubby and I are almost out the door to grab a bite to eat. But here are some things that have happened since I last blogged..

1. I spent an amazing week at home in Miami!
2. I am set on the dresses for both of my best friends weddings!!!
3. I am now OFFICIALLY on a MAJOR dietaaaaaa.....walking everyay, drinking more water, and eating MUCH better.
4. We've been hit by the economic virus. But it's not the end of the world yet. We are looking into our options and being POSITIVE. No worrying about us...please!
5. California trip is confirmed! Plane tix purchased, TIx to Disneyland are in my possession (Thanks Jackie!!!) and have decided on the hotel we will be staying at.

I will be back to discuss more on these topics! Love ya!

count your blessings....

All I know is that God is good! I've been an emotional roller-coaster since I last posted. A lot of stress and anxiety due to the last few days of school. And of top of that, I learned I would be moved to another school due to projected student count for next year at my school. I don't want to get into too many details, but I will say that I want to thank my friends and my family for their prayers. It pays being around people who love you and support you! My faith in God and those who keep me in their prayers made it happen....I will be at my school next year! I can now rest easy and enjoy my summer. Other things to be thankful for this summer....

1. Miami next Saturday until Thursday!
2. Being with my Pa on Father's Day!
3. My little brother Nicholas does modeling and promotional work. And he has a job in Walt Disney World next Monday. I get to go to WDW for the day. But the best part is to see him in action. This will be his 2nd job for Disney. He was called back because "he's such a good listener!" I am so proud of him!
4. I got an iPhone...so dreamy! I love it!
5. CA is confirmed! We're going to Disneyland.
6. Being able to be with my best friends Jackie and Janelle and help them plan their weddings!
7. Having my aunt come to NC and teach me how to cook Cuban....yes!
8. NO MORE ALARM CLOCK!
9. Being able to have the energy cook for my hubby every night and walk together every evening. :)
10. Baking from Martha Stewart's Cupcakes recipe book.
11. Having the time to organize, organize, organize....I love being domesticated. I just never have the energy being a teacher!
12. Going to Boone, NC for the 4th of July and go white water rafting!
13. Living in NC....I love everything about it and I will get to enjoy what the summer has to offer here.

These are just some things I am thankful for. Simple things. But I know I am a very lucky girl having my hubby, friends, and family in my life to support me and make my life worth living! I miss you all...

Summer Updates

I am sorry I have not blogged in over a week. Unlike most of my teacher friends in Miami, I am still finishing off the school year! We have 5th graduation on Friday and the very last day for me is June 15! It seems forever away because I have so many loose ends to complete before the school year ends and my little ones head off to middle school! So far, I will continue to teach 5th grade next year. I never thought in a million years I'd ever be teaching the upper level and how much I would love it. There is something extremely special about getting the tweens ready to head to middle school. I know I will get extremely emotional on their graduation day! I've been so busy, I haven't even purchased an outfit to wear. (I am going this afternoon!)

I just wanted to fill everyone in. My mom called me yesterday and was surprised I still haven't finished the year out yet! I guess those Snow Days weren't so great after all....we had to make up 3 days! I will return late this week and hopefully share some pictures of Graduation.

In other summer news, we are possibly heading to Los Angeles in late July. Or more like DISNEYLAND! I don't want to get too excited...yet. But Ronnie might be going to California on a business trip and I hope to meet him there to spend the weekend. It is not official until his boss approves the trip. But I am a DISNEY GIRL all the way and this has me extremely anxious! California might mean more to other people (Hollywood, beaches, shopping), but for me its Disneyland. The last time I was anywhere near a Disney property was our engagement in Cinderella Castle in Walt Disney World in 06'. (I know "la pobresita". haha!) I never thought my next trip would take so long (it has never been more than 2 months between visits) and it might be DISNEYLAND? WHAT?! Life is good. :)

greensboro grasshoppers- hoppin' fun

Summers in NC mean bar-b-q's and fresh lemonade, wine festivals, visits to the local farmer's market, drives to the mountains, and Greensboro Grasshoppers Baseball games among other things! This weekend we started our Grasshoppers baseball season. Did you know they are the minor league team affiliated with the Marlins? Ronnie and I love baseball. And although NC does not have a Major League team, these are as close, if not BETTER, baseball games to attend. Just good ole' fashion baseball. And let me tell you, they are extremely popular in this town. There are so supported by the fans! The games are filled, if not sold out, for every game. The Grasshoppers have a lot of history, too. The ballpark is fairly knew and so beautiful and family friendly. Located in Downtown Greensboro, seat tickets range in price, but they start at around $8. So affordable, especially for a day out with the family! Ronnie and I love going to them because they don't involve high prices, rude people, an hour's drive because of traffic and parking is $4 for the Girl's Scouts just a block away! We are awaiting the new ballpark in Winston-Salem which will be the home of the minor league team, The Winston-Salem Dash. Winston-Salem is our neighbor....more games we can enjoy! Check out some pictures of us at the game last weekend!

Sitting with "Guilford" and "Babe Ruth", both Mascots.

Some of the players....future Marlins!

The ballpark located in the middle of Downtown Greensboro.

Enjoying the game together. :)

More of the mascots!

The ballpark at night.

Fireworks after the game.

The end of a fun date night!
