haircut

I missed my Saturday appointment because of SkyBus. Luckily, I managed to squeeeeeeze another appointment while in Miami. Phew. I would have cut it a littttle shorter, but I wanted to make Ronnie happy. I love it either way. Here it is!
*I wish you could notice my highlights more.*

My hair has come a long way. Here is one of the first Photo Booths pics I took when I got my Macbook in 2006.

cupcake love

All this week on the Martha Stewart show is cupcake week. I've been so inspired! There have been professional cupcake bakers on the show sharing their wonderful and unique cupcake recipes. Sometimes I wish now I would have gone to baking school. I would love to own my own cookie bakery or a cupcake bakery! How fun would that be? Anyways, there was an amateur cupcake baker on the show today and she invented these cute little cupcakes on a stick.....perfect for a party or wedding favor. I wanted to share her blog at www.bakerella.com Check them out...and she does these for fun! I am surprised she hasn't ran to the bank with these creations! Simply wonderful and so cute!!!

flying "home"

Hey everyone! Ronnie and I will be in Miami this Friday, April 4th until Wednesday, April 9. My mother-in-law is having another surgery, so Ronnie wants to be there for her before she has to go in. We'd love to try to see everyone. And we have to make plans to go to our favorite, Nunzio's. Not sure what our transportation situation will be, yet. We will be flying into Ft.Lauderdale late Friday night. I will keep you posted.

hair trouble

It's been more than 6 months since I last cut my hair. The reason is because I wanted to let it get longer for the wedding. And now I am paying for it! With my curls, I usually cut it every 4-6 weeks. My curls are so "blah" right now. My father even said "you need to cut it...you look disorganized"! LOL And that is exactly how I feel! I've always had it long until about 3 years ago when I pulled a Kerri Russel. (Remember when Felicity chopped off her beautiful curls...everyone was like "how dare she?!") Yeah many felt the same about my curls. But I LOVED it. Little by little I began to cut it shorter and shorter. I didn't just chop it off all at once. Here is a little timeline of my hairstyles.

High school graduation, which was probably at my longest:

This was about my sophomore year in college, a little long, but most much shorter:

Then I wanted bangs....but really, they were like a shorter front layer:

I got sick of the bang, so I let it grow out:

And then I finally did it....I CHOPPED IT OFF...OH THE HORROR! HA! I LOVED IT!!

But, I felt liberated! Seriously...it was a nice change. I felt a little more mature. And it was just time to get it healthy again.

Now, the curls are so bad, that I've been blow drying it straight so that I could do more with it. And it's a lot of work. Now with it longer, it takes FOREVER to blow dry it straight and I just don't have the time for it. Yes, it is nice because of the weather here. But I love my curls and they are fun to have when I have them maintained! LOL Here is my hair straight for Christmas:

Anyways, I have found the new cut I plan to get. It's a good length. Not too short (Ronnie hates it short) and it's not too long. I think it will be a happy medium. This is the actress named Sarah Jones. I will get the short layer again. I hope to get it next week when I am in Miami. Yep. We'll be in Miami on April 4th. But that's a whole other blog post. I will post about that later. Tell me what you think:

Our Very Own F.R.I.E.N.D.S episode

The sofa got delivered! And this time the movers were a little smarter and more helpful. Well....sorta! They came in the house and I explained our "narrow staircase" situation. But they were very positive and promised they would try. And they did. And they were unsuccessful. But they gave us the suggestion of removing the staircase banister and promised if we did that, it would go up perfectly! We decided on calling a carpenter. But with no luck, Ronnie got home and was determined to remove the banister himself! I know...you are probably thinking to yourself "Ronnie do carpenter work?! What?" Listen to me when I say, he's become quite handy after owning his own home people!!! But I still recommended asking our friends here, Marty and Margie, to come over and help. Marty is quite the handy guy. He knows what he's doing! So, Ronnie agreed and I bribed them for their help by ordering them a pizza for dinner...and it worked! HAHA Boy...I am sure if they knew what this job entailed maybe $100 wouldn't even sound good. They would totally re-think the situation. LOL

So, the night begins after dinner. Ronnie was determined to get this job done. I mean, look at where our sofa was laying!

Then the destruction began. Look! He did it all by himself!

Then our friends came over to help out. Here is Marty helping Ronnie take off the other banister!

Then the hardest part....getting this 1000 pound sofa up the stairs! I tried to help after this picture was taken. Luckily, our awesome neighbors were walking by and they offered to help, too. After several breaks, they pulled and squeezed the sofa up. Yay!

Our bonus room has furniture...yay! We still need to put together 2 side tables. But we were exhausted last night. So, we'll do that this evening. Ronnie picked out the pillows. I forgot to take a picture of the pull out bed. I will take some more later tonight. We are so happy about it.....doesn't it look great?!

And if this adventure did not look funny enough, I will leave you with a very similar F.R.I.E.N.D.S scene. Unfortunately, the "pivot" technique did not work for us either! :)
